The amateur radio advanced Licence is now the highest level of licence that can
be achieved within the UK. This level of licence has traditionally been held in high
regard and has been used as an aid to entering some of the related career paths.
The standard required for the Advanced Licence has been compared to the standard
required in order to be successful at the commonly known ‘A’ level educational qualification.
There are no further practical assessments to be completed but there is a demanding
multi-choice examination comprising, at the moment, 62 questions covering all subject
material from the foundation, intermediate and advanced licence courses and syllabuses.
